Many people tend to defend against potential hurts that may originate from the relationships with others. We get hurts from lovers or friends when there are misunderstandings in communication. Sometimes we can get insulted or depressed when someone betrays us. Therefore, we cannot open our mind completely and feel difficult to communicate in fully faith to others. However, the self-defense or self-protection strategy may be the key cause which hinders truthful communication. As a result, we come up with more unstable feelings and bigger hurts in mind. In this work, the project tries to surface up these current society issues in human relationships. It shows a dilemma of coexistence of protection and hurt in self-defense strategy by overlapping the text “hurt” on the text “protect”.
The symbol “Hurt” is assembled by stuck arrows over the “Protect” text on a rusty surface.
